Do you sympathize with the Joker?
Yes, I do sympathise with the Joker. He is pitiful although he kills his own friends who helped him during the robbery. The Joker is what he is today because of a series of misfortune that befallen on him.
The Joker was an unnamed laboratory assistant who quits his job at the chemical company to become a stand-up comedian, only to fail miserably. Desperate to support his pregnant wife, Jeannie, he agrees to guide two criminals through the plant to rob the next door card company. However, during the planning, his wife and his unborn child passed away in a household accident. He decided to back out but the two criminals strong-arm him into keeping his commitment to them.
When Batman appeared, the Joker panicked and delibrately jumps into the chemical plant's toxic waste vat to escape and is swept thgrough a pipe leading to the outside. Once outside, he discovered that he has chalk-white face, ruby-red lips and green hair. Due to the turns of events, the Joker went insane and became what he is today.
Thus, its because of his loss of family that turned him into what he is today. "It's too late for that...far too late. " It shows that if Joker had a choice, he would not commited the robbery and if his wife and unborn child were still alive, he would have a happy life, but it was too late. The Joker is disfigured because of his escape from Batman, thus, he was forced to have hatred in him and has a reason to hate Batman.
